Impulse

Impulse is an interactive work of art consisting of multiple seesaws that activate with light and sound that changes in intensity when in motion. Fun for all ages, the units of light and musical tones are activated by the public to create an ever-changing composition. By playing on the seesaws, you create a dynamic light and sound wave, filling the street with magical glows and resonances. Impulse embodies ideas of serialism, repetition, and variation to produce zones of intensity and calm as an ever-changing urban event and an instrument in which the public becomes the musicians and artists.

Sparks Street is thrilled to present the debut of Impulse in Ottawa and to offer such an incredible opportunity for the public to flex their creative minds (and legs!) by interacting with art outside.

Impulse is located on Sparks Street between Kent Street and Lyon Street, just steps from the O-Train's Lyon Station.

Only in Ottawa September 14th to October 6th, 2019, Impulse is open from 8:00am to 11:00pm each day.
